Not gonna talk a lot about this year but there have been, of course, good and bad things. I guess it's the same for everyone else reading this, all I can say is thank you to anyone that has been involved somehow in my photography projects, from my fashion editorials to Girls on Film.

I'm starting an internship next Wednesday but I hope I can still take as many photos as I have taken in the last couple of years. I already have some exciting projects and editorials that you will be able to see really soon during this new year.

Have a great night and best wishes for 2012.

Sunday Zine Review #06: Catchin' Bodies by Ari Marcopoulos

Sorry about the lack of updates, have been quite busy this last couple of weeks, first travelling down to Liverpool for my graduation and after coming back home to Spain for Christmas. Sorry for the quality of these photos as well, left my digital camera in Edinburgh so had to use a phone.

This week's zine is
Catchin' Bodies by Ari Marcopoulos, which unfortunately is sold out. It was a special edition by publishers Printed Matter for an exhibition they did in MUSAC, which is a contemporary art museum in Leon, a town really close from where I'm from in Spain.

I was lucky to visit that exhibition a couple of years ago and got the zine for free. If you're familiar with Ari Marcopoulos' work, then you know what to expect: graffiti, skaters and street photos blend together to form a beautiful 32 pages black and white zine.

If you want to know more about Ari's work you can check the post I did for The Youthquake a couple of days ago.

Sunday Zine Review #05: Heterotopia by Jess Gough

Today's review is on Heterotopia, a self-published photo book by Jess Gough.

I got the book a few months ago, it was launched at the same time a solo exhibion with the same name took place. Heterotopia is a collection of travel images and experiences, the book starts with a urban environment and changes progressively into natural landscapes from different places around the world.

Apparently on Jess' site it says that it is sold out, but I think you can get a copy at the Fourteen-Nineteen shop if you are interested.

Found this walking close to Princes Street a couple of weeks ago.
By the way, if you live in Scotland you can get my zine I used to live here in Analogue Books (Edinburgh) or Good Press Gallery (Glasgow).

Sunday Zine Review #04: Boys on Film #03

A lot of people had been asking about paper copies of the zine so the only option I can offer right now is buying it via MagCloud. It isn't probably the cheaper way but as I'm unemployed haha I can't afford getting several copies from a printer. The selling price includes a $0.5 benefit for each sold issue that will be use for print copies and send them to websites that feature zines so the artists featured in it can get more exposure.

Hopefully I will be able to offer a cheaper option sometime soon! Meanwhile you can get your copy (perfect Xmas present :D) here

One Piece

In 2007 three hung-over Norwegians had the idea to sew together a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants, connecting the two with a giant zipper to create the ORIGINAL OnePiece™.

OnePiece™ was introduced to the British market in November 2010 with a huge success and adopted by broad range of celebrities who have all been spotted in their unmissable suits such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Usher, Jayden Smith, Westlife, Kate Moss, Paris & Perez Hilton, Whitney Port, Paramore, Pink, Henry Holland, Agyness Deyn, Pixie Geldof, Nick Grimshaw, Jude Law and Sadie Frost.

OnePiece™opened their first UK Store in Boxpark, Shoreditch on Monday 28th of November, spreading the joy of comfort, style and fun even further. Get down to their store in Boxpark and say: ‘I’m spontaneous, not too serious, not too cool. Confident with no worries, so I would like to jump in and join you!’ – and they’ll give you a £20 gift-card - If you want to get it online, type code 85237 upon checkout on here and you’ll get free shipping.

Sunday Zine Review #03: The Travel Almanac #02

The Travel Almanac can't really be considered a zine but due to the small number of ads in it (only 4 pages) and the self-published feeling of the A5 size I thought of posting about it on the Sunday Zine Review.

I got the first issue back in June, David Lynch was on the cover and it was mainly the reason why I decided to buy it, but then found out that Lynch wasn't the most interesting thing in the magazine. The Travel Almanac is, as you might have guessed, a magazine about travelling but from a completely different point of view on what we're used to when we think about travel magazines.

It presents a series of interviews with musicians, artists, designers... in which they talk about their travel experiences, usually from a very personal approach that makes the readers feel related to those stories. The Travel Almanac is not about places to visit, but about all the emotions that someone can feel while travelling to a new place.

Issue #02 includes interviews with Will Oldham (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy), Bernard Sumner (from New Order), model Alek Wek, singer/actress Juliette Lewis and designers Helmut Lang and Bernard Willhelm. As in the first issue, a nice review on some hotels around the world is presented. The last 4 pages of the magazine are probably my favourites, they are a blank travel log so you can write about your own travels.

A couple of weeks ago my shoot Ragged Mountain was featured at Chilean website The Youthquake.

Sunday Zine Review #02: OWT #09 'Chance'

Second Sunday Zine Review, this time OWT #09 'Chance' .

OWT is a design collective based in Manchester, I discovered them when I was living in Liverpool and immediately liked what they do. The 4 members of the collective put together a zine called OWT with a different theme for each issue, so a few months ago I decided to send them some of my work for OWT #05 'Atmosphere'.

I loved the result so I sent a couple of photos for OWT #09 'Chance' . The zine is a collection of photos, illustration, collage and other types of media (you can even find an original Kodachrome slide) put together nicely in a quite innovative format. Browsing through the zine you can find different interpretations of the theme 'Chance' by 20 creatives.

You can find more about OWT by clicking here and order a copy here.

Boys on Film 03

Here's the new issue of Boys on Film. The first issue of the Girls on Film and Boys on Film series came out in March this year and I have been editing one issue per month since then so I have to thank everyone that has contributed.

Next issue will be Girls on Film, for more info on submitting click here.

By the way, today I started working as a volunteer at Stills, which is a really nice photography gallery here in Edinburgh.

In Halloween I ended up at this party, don't know who these people are. If you recognize yourself in a photo say hi.
