Maja Simonsen for Oyster

Last month I travelled to London to shoot a couple of editorials. This is the first one that has been published, with Maja @ Premier for Oyster Magazine. I had been wanting to shoot for Oyster for a while so seeing my photos in their website is really great news!

The stylist of the shoot was James Mitchell, who was amazing and also let us use his flat as a base. Erin Kristensen was the MUA and Roger Cho was the hair stylist, both did a great job. Photographer Hollie Fernando, whom I've featured in Girls on Film many times, also came to give me hand.

As you can see in the photos, the weather was perfect and we managed to find some amazing blooming trees that helped setting the spring and playful mood for the shoot.

This is one of my favourite editorials I've ever taken. If you want to see the rest of the photos at better quality you can do it on my website:

Street Dreams - Vanidad Magazine

Last January I travelled to London to shoot an editorial for Spanish fashion magazine Vanidad.

I worked with stylist Lucía Silva, whom I had wanted to work with for a while, and the model was Kit Alexander @ Models 1. We were lucky to rent an interior skate park in Shoreditch, inside a warehouse which was actually going to be demolished shortly after the shoot. We also shot some looks outside (like the Prada total look, my favourite) although it was completely freezing!

You can still find the magazine at newsstands across Spain and you can see all the photos from the editorial on my website:

PS I was in London again a couple of weeks ago and shot two editorials, can't wait to share them here!

Recent publications

Over the last month I've had some work published in a couple of magazines. Last Friday I received a copy of the latest issue of Material Girl magazine with my editorial After School in it. It was great to also find Lara Alegre in there with a beautiful editorial. Lara is a Spanish photographer whose work has been published in Girls on Film a few times and whom I met on my trip to Berlin last year.

In this issue there is also work by Girls on Film contributors Flora Deborah and Joseph Wolfgang Ohlert so I'd definitely recommend buying a copy if you can find it in your town!

Here are some photos of the magazine, you can see the rest of the editorial on my website.

I've also had a photo published and I've been interviewed in the "light issue" of Korean magazine AVEC. They chose a photo from my personal series "I Used to Live Here" and asked me a few questions about it and my work. There are also some other familiar photographers in this issue like Katherine Squier and Sandra Eichinger.

And finally, I've decided to use my Instagram account to post some of my work and behind the scenes there. Here's a photo from the shoot for I Heart Magazine in Glasgow last month. The editorial will be out in January!

Last Days of College

Sorry about the lack of updates but I decided to take a little break this summer and spend most of my free time on my side project Future Positive.

I took these photos a few weeks ago and they were published in Bast Magazine. My friend Danielle Coates helped me again with the styling and the model is Anton Jones.

You can see the rest of the photos from the editorial on my website:

After School

A couple of months ago, I shot this editorial and short film here in Edinburgh. It was great to work again with stylist Katherine Whyte - every time I've worked with her the result has been amazing!

Ciara Rafferty @ModelTeam and Sophie Crooks @Colours were lots of fun and were great both on the pictures and the video. Also, Caron Tait (MUA and hair) did an amazing job.

If you want to check the whole editorial, you can do it on my website:

Pattison Street for Fucking Young

I shot this editorial 3 weeks ago for Fucking Young. Had been wanting to do some British-inspired menswear for a while, I had a chat with my friend Danielle Coates and she put together the amazing styling for the shoot!

The model is Ben Nugent @ Colours, who's only 16! It was he's first editorial and he did a great job.

We were quite lucky with the weather - I wasn't sure if we would have to cancel the same morning of the shoot due to the rain. It was pretty cloudy but it worked well with the styling and the theme for the editorial.

If you like the pictures above, there are more on my website:

Also, last Friday I shot my first editorial using a Contax T2. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and the photos have turned out great! I also shot my first fashion film, using a Hi8 camera. I'm really excited about the overall result so hopefully the shoot and video will be published soon!

Have an EWAN day

One month ago I had the honour of shooting again for Ewan Clothing

Ewan is a Spanish label, based in Asturias, the region where I studied my degree. This label was established in 2007 and has grown and changed a lot since then. What started as a collection of graphic t-shirts has evolved into a great selection of garments and two new collections every year.

While I was studying in Gijón a couple of years ago I shot their F/W 10 campaign so it was great to collaborate with them again and here in Scotland!

This time I prepared a photoshoot for the label in Edinburgh using clothes from their current collection and based around their motto "Have an Ewan Day"

You can see the full series of photos at a bigger size on my website:

Thanks to everyone who participated and helped!

Jamie Walker & Meg Johannessen for posing in front of my camera and looking great in the photos,

Caitlyn Beryl Warther for helping me out again, assisting during the photoshoot and finding the amazing house where we took part of the photos.

Jakub Michalski for helping that day and filming a video that might come out (or not) soon!

Suburban Dream

This is my favourite editorial from everything I've ever shot. It is hard to choose a personal favourite from all your past work but when I was shooting this I knew that the results were going to be good (and I don't usually feel that confident during photoshoots).

This was the second time I worked with stylist Katherine Whyte and MUA Debbie Slater, had done the Halfway House editorial with them a month or so before I shot this one. The first time worked really well but this time worked even better.

Katherine brought these amazing clothes and we drove to Bishopbriggs, just outside Glasgow. I fell in love with the place as soon as I got out of the train, I had always wanted to shoot an editorial with a very suburban feeling.

The styling worked so well with the location and Fern Calderwood from The Model Team was amazing. I had never worked with Fern before, but after these photos I messaged her again and we're planning to shoot a short fashion video in a couple of weeks.

It's been over 3 months since I shot the editorial, but thanks Katherine, Debbie and Fern for an amazing Sunday in Bishopbriggs!

Photography: Igor Termenon
Model: Fern Calderwood @ The Model Team
Stylist: Katherine Whyte
MUA: Debbie Slater

There are lots of more photos from the same editorial on my website so go and have a look!

On the Road

If you've been following my work for a while, you might have noticed that I'm a little obsessed with everything American -even though, sadly, I've never been to the States.

I had been wanting to do this "On the Road" inspired editorial for a long time and finally decided to put it together a couple of weeks ago. I grabbed some of my clothes and talked to Elliott Mackie, whom I had worked with before.

The editorial has been published on Dresslab and you can also have a look at my photos in a bigger size on my website:

Really hope you like it!
