Sunday Zine Review #17: No Thoughts #07

If you are into photography zines I'm sure you've heard about Michael J Demeo before, he's been featured in quite a lot of them - including Girls on Film - and he edits No Thoughts along with Alyssa Noches.

Michael sent me a copy of the last issue of No Thoughts to be reviewed, thanks a lot! No Thoughts #07 is dedicated to portraits, inside its pages you can find the work of more than 20 photographers.

Didn't know about the work of Dan Zev before, but was really surprised by his Occupy Wall Street included in this issue. It was also nice to see portraits of Joan Jett and Michael Jackson by Brad Elterman or the Michael Pitt's portrait taken by Samantha Casolari.

It's really interesting to find a mix of famous and unknown faces portrayed by so many different photographers, and I think this diversity is what makes No Thoughts #07 pretty special.

This edition of No Thoughts is limited to 200 copies so go ahead and grab yours because they sell out pretty quick!

Also, don't forget to like No Thougts on Facebook and follow it on Twitter.

The Stitch Lounge

Three weeks ago I attended The Stitch Lounge catwalk show. The idea of the Stitch Lounge is creating a quaterly open lab in Edinburgh, where people can go during the weekend and use free fabrics and sewing machines for making their own creations.

The attendees work on their pieces during Saturday and Sunday, and the workshop ends with a catwalk show taking place on Sunday evening.

The next event is on 14-15 April, coinciding with Edinburgh International Science Festival. Aparently there's gonna be some "engineering" applied to the creations, so it will be excited to see the result!

Remember to like The Stitch Loung on Facebook to be updated on any upcoming events and taking part in them!

Sunday Zine Review #15: Financially Hard Times #10

Tom Casson sent me his zine Financially Hard Times after checking the last zine review. This 'lo-fi' monthly zine is about the current economic situation, as you might have guessed... but from a sarcastic and really funny point of view.

Issue #10 is a journey to the future, Tom illustrates some of the possible scenes of our daily life in 2022. Things like Facebook taking the place of the famous Hollywood sign, Tesco advertising on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris or an iPad used as a tombstone.

I definitely had a laugh reading it! It only costs £1 so go ahead and get your copy here .
You can keep updated of new issues and everything related to Financially Hard Times on Twitter.

Sunday Zine Review #14: OWT #11

Jon Hannan from OWT Creative sent me the latest issue of their zine yesterday.

I knew about OWT Creative when I was living in Liverpool, I sent them some of my work for one of their zines and discovered all the stuff these guys do.

They are a design collective based in Manchester and they publish this monthly zine which features work from people based in the Northwest of England. I love the zine, I have two of the previous issue but every new one they release is even better.

The theme for this issue was trial and error. It features work from 22 creatives from different fields, and what I probably like the most about OWT is that every zine is unique. This one for example has a real coffee cup stain in one of the pages, amazing!

This is a limited edition of 125 and they sell really fast, if you want to grab a copy you can do it at their shop!

Thanks again for sending the copy Jon! If you want your zine to be reviewed, post a comment below or drop me a message to igortermenon@gmail.com
